SEA WEEK 2023

SEA WEEK 2023
The racing this year was sailed both inside and outside the sandbanks with two days sailed in each area. The week started with strong winds leading to the cancellation of Sunday racing. The rest of the week apart from no wind on Wednesday afternoon provided ideal conditions for racing at Lowestoft with nice wind, challenging tides and calm seas.
17 Broads One Designs and 3 Squibs enjoyed some very tight racing this week. The morning series was dominated by Richard Dell sailing Solan. He won every morning race. Seconds and thirds were shared amongst Matthew Frary, Joe Warns, Sam Cole, Matthew Thwaites, Richard Fryer Mark Moncrieff and Steve Batson.  Matthew Frary finished the morning series second overall with Joe Warnes third.
The afternoon series saw Joe Drake and Chris Schonhut joining the fleet of BOD’s. Joe was never out of the top three to win overall with Chris Schonhut second. Richard Dell was third.
In the Squibs again the result was very close with Chris Jordan winning with Bryan Riley second.
Thanks to morning Race officers, Jenny and Bryan Riley aided by John Humphery and afternoon race officer Charles Bellamy assisted by John Humphery and Commodore Jeremy Ives.
